Trent L. Peneaux, 29, of Eagle Butte, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Monument Health Hospital, Rapid City.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2026, at CRST Bingo Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the Eagle Butte Cemetery. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the hall with a procession from the 4-Mile at 4:00 p.m.

Trent was born on October 11, 1996, in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, to Connie Corwitt and the late Lester Lynn Peneaux. He grew up and attended school in Eagle Butte, where he formed lifelong friendships and strong family bonds.

Trent worked various construction jobs and was known as a dedicated and hardworking man. Above all else, he was a loving and devoted father who cherished his children deeply. He enjoyed spending time with them, taking long walks, cruising around, and sharing laughter. Trent loved to joke with everyone and was rarely seen without a smile. He was humble, respectful, and kind to all.

In 2011, Trent met Terri Rae Collins, who preceded him in death. Together they were blessed with four children: Takoda, Taliyah (twins), Lester Alonzo who preceded him in death, and Trent Jr.

Trent later married Ronelle Peneaux, with whom he shared a loving life and family. Through this union, he lovingly embraced his stepchildren, Harmony and Eason, as his own.

Trent is survived by his wife, Ronelle Peneaux; children: Takoda, Taliyah, and Trent Jr. Peneaux; stepchildren: Harmony and Eason; mother, Connie Corwitt and stepfather, Michael Corwitt; brother, Jared Peneaux; and stepmother, Darla Strong Heart; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Lynn Peneaux; his child, Lester Alonzo; brother, Lester Peneaux; grandparents, Stanley and Celeste Peneaux; and Terri Rae Collins.

Trent will be greatly missed by his children, wife, family, and friends. His love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Trent’s arrangements.
