Trevor Jo High Elk was born March 9, 2004 in Pierre, SD to Jessie High Elk. His aunty, Tre’ Luna, named him Trevor and aunty, Keisha High Elk, gave him his middle name Jo.
Trevor, as he was known to all his family and friends, grew up in his younger years in the Eagle Butte and Dupree areas where he attended head start, kindergarten, elementary and high school. He played grade school basketball and football for the Dupree Tigers.
Trevor enjoyed fishing down at the Moreau River and hunting out in the country in the Thunder Butte area.
Trevor enjoyed playing video games, building Legos, drawing, listening to music, and playing his guitar. When he was a toddler, he always carried around his “beesh beesh and kachow”, (blanket and Lightning McQueen car).
Trevor had a deep love for his family, especially his grandmother Audrey, who raised him since the age of one. His undying love for his grandmother was a bond only shared by a grandson for his grandmother whom he loved with all his heart. Whenever his grandmother needed assistance with chores around the house, Trevor was always willing to give a helping hand.
He truly loved his little sister Maliyah, his aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Papa, Gerald.
Trevor will be truly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for his teasing, laughing and his big smile.
