Wesley Andy Anderson, 71, of Wessington, died Monday, December 15th at his home south of Wessington. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 17th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18th at the Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will be at the Wessington Cemetery.
Wesley Andrew Anderson was born January 24, 1937 at Platte, SD to Ted and Aleene (Durham) Anderson. Wes moved to Pierre in 1962 and started working for the State of South Dakota in the Buildings and Grounds Department and continued until his retirement on November 10, 2002.
He married Sharon Dick on December 4, 1964 in Pierre. In December 2003 Wes and Sharon moved from rural Pierre to Wessington.
Survivors include his wife Sharon; one son Jeffrey of South Sioux City, NE; one daughter Dawn Dawson; 6 Grandchildren Tyler, Zach, Jessica and Cody Anderson, Carrie and Christopher Dawson ; one sister Marlene Henry of Sioux City, Iowa; Brothers-in-law Herbert (Barb) Dick of Versailles, MO, Gene (Linda) Dick of Oklahoma City, OK, Wallace (Rhonda) Dick of Houston, TX; Sister-in-law Dianne (Ken) Wedge of Wessington; 8 nephews and 7 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his son Randy, mother Aleene Parks, stepfather Edward Parks, sisters Rose Gregory and Wanda Dixon.
