Willard "Billy" Hermann, 59, of Aberdeen and formerly of Hoven, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at his home in Aberdeen.
A celebration of Billy’s life will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Luce Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Fr. Jerry Kopel officiating.
Willard Charles Hermann was born November 1, 1950 at Clear Lake, SD to Bill and Betty (Kilian) Hermann.
In 1953 the family moved to Gettysburg. Billy lived there with his parents until the age of 8. At that time he was placed in the Redfield State Hospital and School and remained there until 2003 at which time he was transferred to the ATC Living Center in Aberdeen where he resided until the time of his death.
Billy enjoyed taking drives, having ice cream and mints, listening to music and playing with animals.
His life will be treasured by his parents: Bill and Betty Hermann of Hoven; siblings: Bob (Mary) Hermann, Ginny Umiker and Arlynn Minnerath, Joy (Rich) Penrod, Lynn (Donnie) Karst, and Ed (Noami) Hermann; nieces and nephews: Kelly Hermann, Nickie Hansen, Brad Frost, John Curtis Umiker, Angie Fillaus, Jeremy Penrod, Travis, Brooke and Paige Karst, and Megan and Sage Hermann; aunts: Dytc Rundall, Lorrayne Erickson, Carletta Kilian, June Kilian and Pat Kilian and numerous cousins.
Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Matt & Gertrude Hermann and Harry & Nora Kilian and many aunts and uncles.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Billy's arrangements.

Bill was such a special man and will be missed by all his friends in Aberdeen!
I enjoyed spending time with Bill at his home. He is greatly missed.
