Mandy Luikens-Spilde, CFSP
Funeral Director/Owner
I grew up in the Freeman area, graduating from Freeman High School. My college coursework included attending Mount Marty College in Yankton and the University of Minnesota, where I graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science, respectively. In 2000, I joined Luce Funeral Home in Gettysburg, working with the previous owner, John F. Luce Jr. On October 18, 2006, along with my sister Tiffany, we purchased Luce Funeral Homes of Gettysburg, Faulkton, and Eagle Butte, Reck Funeral Home of Miller, and Luze Funeral Home of Highmore. In 2007, I received my South Dakota Insurance Agent’s License. I currently represent United Heritage Insurance Company, a provider of funeral insurance. I currently serve as the Potter County Coroner, Faulk County Deputy Coroner, and Hyde County Deputy Coroner. In May of 2009, Tiffany and I were the recipients of the University of Minnesota Alumni of the Year. In 2012, I obtained my Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, Inc.
My family includes my husband, Ryan, one daughter, Harper Ryan, and three sons, Grant William, Carter Joel, and Heath Bradley. Community involvement is a very important part of my life.
I currently belong to the Gettysburg Chamber of Commerce, Gettysburg Rotary, Gettysburg Cemetery Association Treasurer, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society, Faulkton Business and Professionals, Highmore Booster Club, South Dakota Funeral Directors Association Board as the President 2012-2013, and the National Funeral Directors Association, along with many other various organizations in each community we serve.
Tiffany Pape Hofer, CFSP
Funeral Director/Owner
I was raised in the Freeman area with my parents and four sisters. I graduated from Freeman High School. I spent two years at Mt. Marty College in Yankton, graduating with an Associate of Arts Degree. While attending Mt. Marty College, I served part of my apprenticeship at Kostel Funeral Home. From there, I attended the University of Minnesota, Program of Mortuary Science, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science. I was the recipient of the Robert Slater Scholarship. After graduating, I served the remaining part of my apprenticeship at Luce Funeral Home, and I have been with Luce Funeral Homes since January of 2004. Along with my sister Mandy Luikens, we purchased Luce Funeral Homes of Gettysburg, Faulkton, and Eagle Butte, Reck Funeral Home of Miller, and Luze Funeral Home of Highmore in October of 2006. I currently serve as the Hyde County Coroner.
In May of 2009, Mandy and I were the recipients of the University of Minnesota Alumni of the Year. In 2012, I obtained my Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, Inc.
My family includes my wife, Barb, daughter, Grace, son, Blake, and our Golden Retrievers, Rigor (2007-2013), and Mortis.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, playing golf, attending high school sporting events, going to musicals, and watching basketball.
Community involvement and having the opportunity to give back is very important to me. I have served in a variety of community organizations through the years.
LeAnn Sievers
Office Manager
LeAnn works at our Gettysburg office. She takes care of the daily office duties. She has been part of Luce Funeral Home since 1991. She is married to Monte and they have three children: Chelsea, Chandra, and Chase. LeAnn is involved in various community activities in Gettysburg along with being a member of Grace Bible Church.
Stephanie Kjetland
Office Manager-Miller & Highmore
I was raised on a farm north of Vayland by my parents, Ed and Lorna Watkins, alongside my siblings, Michelle and Mark. I graduated from Miller High School before attending South Dakota State University, where I earned a degree in History Education with a minor in Psychology.
During my time in Brookings, I met my husband, Chris, and we later relocated to Hand County, where we currently reside north of Vayland. We have one child, Edward.
In addition to my professional commitments, I am actively involved in officiating high school volleyball and find great fulfillment in spending time with my family. I also serve as an EMT in Hand County and Wessington, contributing to the well-being of my community.
Bill Wuttke
Funeral Assistant
I was born and raised in Gettysburg, SD; graduating in 1974. I worked in retail for over 40 years and joined Luce, Luze, & Reck Funeral Homes in September 2018. My wife Sara and I were married in 1981. We have three daughters and five grandchildren.
Angie Borstad
Funeral Assistant/Monument Consultant
I have been a lifelong resident of Faulkton. After graduating high school, I furthered my education at LATI in Watertown and graduated with a Dental Assisting degree. Before moving back to Faulkton, I worked in Aberdeen for one year. I started my banking career and was with Dacotah Bank for 16 years. In May of 2016 I decided it was time for a career change and joined Mandy and Tiffany as their preneed and monument consultant.
My family includes my husband Kent who works for Agtegra in the energy department. We have three children, Makenna is a cosmetologist in Winner, S.D., Madison is a certified microblading artist in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Trevor is a student at LATI in Watertown, S.D.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
Community involvement is very important to me. As a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church I volunteer to teach 5th and 6th grade CBS class. I am the Vice President of our ladies WELCA church group and hold a position on the church council.
Lee Bartlett
Relief Funeral Director
Lee is a native of Sioux Falls. He travels the tri-state area helping funeral homes with relief funeral director duties. We has been assisting Luce, Luze, & Reck Funeral Homes since 2008. He is a valuable funeral director to our funeral homes.
Shelby Werdel
Business Manager
I was raised in Miller with my parents, Don and Jennifer (Russell) Herman, and my two younger siblings, Haydn and Keeley. After I graduated from Miller High School, I attended Lake Area Tech and earned my Associate’s Degree in Business Accounting. I decided to further my education and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Accountancy from Northern State University. I joined the Luce, Luze, & Reck Funeral Home family in 2019.
My husband, Wade, and I have three sons: Rayne, Rowen, & Ridge. Our boys definitely put definition in the saying, “If you think our hands are full, you should see our hearts” but we wouldn’t have it any other way! My favorite way to spend my time is with them and our extended family.
Jori Melius
Funeral Service Intern
I was born and raised in Faulkton, SD where I graduated from high school. Since graduating I have been attending South Dakota State University for a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and will later attend the University of Minnesota for my mortuary science degree. Throughout high school and college I have been working for Luce, Luze, and Reck as well as getting other funeral service experience while in college at Brookings.
Sara Wuttke
Visitation/Funeral Assistant
I grew up in Veblen, SD. I attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD and Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. I received a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education.
I worked at the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and in 1980 moved to Gettysburg to begin my teaching career. I retired in 2020, but still spend many days subbing at the school.
My husband, Bill, and I were married in 1981 and have three daughters. Jodi and Chris have two children, Cambrie and Karsten, and live in Sioux Falls, SD. Kelsey and Seth have a daughter, Blayke, and live in Harrisburg, SD. Bethany and Nathan have two children, Hadley and Jace, and live in Tyler, MN. Bill and I enjoy spending as much time as we can with our family.

Connie Templeton
Visitation Assistant
I live south of Ree Heights in Green Valley where I was raised with my 5 siblings by my parents, George and Leona Engelmann, and my grandfather, Koran Fawcett. I attended Spring Hill Grade School, Miller High School, and graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. For several years I worked for the Hand County Memorial Hospital and as the Hand County Community Health Nurse.
In 1980 my sister Chris Niederauer and I opened The Clothes Garden on Miller’s Main Street. We operated the store until our retirement in 2015. In the spring of 2015 I obtained my certification as an Emergency Medical Technician(EMT) and became a volunteer with the Hand County Ambulance Service. In 2015 I also joined the Reck Funeral Home staff.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Bob Templeton, and we have two children, Dylan and Sarah. Dylan and Jenn of Miller have two boys, Dayken and Davin. Sarah and husband Mark Abrams of Rapid City have 4 children, Abby, Ashley, Hunter, and Fischer and one grandchild, Paisley.
My community involvement has included Meals on Wheels, Hand in Hand Community Day Care Center, Rustler Roost After School program, Miller Civic and Commerce, Hand County Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, and Chapter AK, PEO.

Eleanor Iverson
Visitation Assistant
I am originally from the rural Volga, SD area. I graduated from Sioux Valley High School and SDSU. I taught in Woonsocket and Huron before working for a seed company in Watertown. In 1982, I married Jim Iverson of Ree Heights and shortly after began teaching in the Miller School District. I retired from teaching in 2010. We have two adult children, Michaela and John.
I am a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller, currently serving on the church council. I also serve on the board for the Miller Housing Authority, and am a member of Chapter AK PEO, along with helping at visitation and prayer services at the funeral home.

Shauna Ashdown
Visitation Assistant
I grew up in Highmore and attended college at SDSU. It was during that time I fell in love & later married my husband, Mike. We raised two amazing children together, Taylor, a nurse & Tristan, a Captain in the United States Army. In 2021, I lost my husband to cancer.
I am currently the Billing Clerk at Venture Communications in Highmore and have been part of that team for 31 years. In addition to serving as a visitation assistant for the funeral home, I also work seasonally at the Tumbleweed Lodge. I love a good book, time spent with friends, traveling & exploring new places, and spending time with my kids.

Gladys Volek
Visitation/Funeral Assistant
I am a life long resident of Hyde County, growing up north of Highmore with my 7 siblings. I attended and graduated from Highmore High School. My husband, John Volek, and I have two daughters, seven grandchildren, and expecting a great grandchild in May of 2023. I started working for Luce, Luze, and Reck Funeral Home in 2021. I am an active member in the Lutheran church, serving as secretary, volunteering at the Health Center, Meals on Wheels, and other places that can use an extra hand. I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors in the summer and camping. Although my greatest enjoyment will always be, spending time with my family and friends.
Sandi Winter
Visitation Assistant
I grew up in Iroquois, SD along with my nine siblings. Our parents taught us to have a very strong faith and love for others. I married my best friend, Marlen, in 1992 and together we made a family of four great kids and six amazing grandkids. I began working for Luce, Luze, and Reck Funeral Home in 2023, following my retirement after 47 years as a Register Nurse. In my spare time, I love following my family in their many activities and making sure my relationship with God and my faith stays strong.
Scott Oligmueller
1963 – 2023
Scott had helped at our funeral homes since 2007 assisting at funerals in Miller and Highmore. Scott passed away March 8, 2023, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He left us to soon and is greatly missed.

Bob Hadrick

Bob was a longtime staff member of our funeral homes who assisted with funerals at our location in Faulkton. He is greatly missed.

Vince Rosemore has been part of Reck Funeral Home in Miller since 1959. Vince passed away in 2009 and is greatly missed.
