Alverta Bowker

Alverta Lisa Bowker, 36, of Eagle Butte and formerly of Cherry Creek, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the I.H.S. Hospital in Eagle Butte.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., MDT, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Cherry Creek Gymnasium, Cherry Creek. Burial will follow in the UCC Cemetery, Cherry Creek at 4:00 p.m., MDT. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the gym with a procession from the hill east of town at 5:00 p.m.

Alverta Lisa Bowker was born on June 29, 1978 in Eagle Butte to Marian Bagola and Marvin Bowker Sr. She spent her younger years in Cherry Creek and attended school there at the Cherry Creek Day School. She later attended school in Dupree, Eagle Butte, and Takini.

After moving to Eagle Butte, Lisa married Scott Lovelette. Together they had one son—Chaske Lovelette. Lisa later married Eugene Condon and they had seven children together: Angel, Colton, Torrin, Angelica, Jordon, Anna, and Mason.

Lisa, a mother of eight children, was a full time parent. She enjoyed cooking and especially making frybread. She also liked going to pow-wows with her family where Eugene would sing, and her little ones would dance. Lisa had many hobbies including playing bingo, swimming with her family, going on walks, taking the kids sledding, fishing, having cookouts, and spending time with her brothers, sisters, aunties, uncles, mother, other relatives, and friends. She loved to dance and would dance to any kind of music—including Lakota, country, and hip-hop. Lisa will be remembered for her enthusiasm and her ability to get everyone involved in a particular activity.

Lisa is survived by the love of her life, Eugene Condon of Eagle Butte; her children: Chaske Lovelette, Angel Condon, Colton Condon, Torrin Condon, Angelica Condon, Jordon Condon, Anna Condon, and Mason Condon, all of Eagle Butte; her parents: Marvin Bowker Sr., Marian Bagola, and George Eagle Chasing, all of Eagle Butte; her siblings: Derrill Bowker of Eagle Butte, Alvin Bowker of Eagle Butte, Spencer Bagola of Aberdeen, Donita Flying By-Condon of Scotts Bluff, NE, Dennette Flying By of Eagle Butte, Alvette Bowker of Bullhead, Vanessa Bowker of Big Bend, and Amber Bowker of Eagle Butte; her grandparents: Arlene and Clifford Demery of Cherry Creek, Franklin Bear Looks Running of Cherry Creek, Sylvester and Dena Waloke of Howes, and Marlene Runs After of Cherry Creek; her aunties and uncles: Raylene Ochoa of Cherry Creek, Sharon Hayes of Cherry Creek, Darla Hayes of Cherry Creek, Hildred Waloke of Denver, CO, Renee Bagola of Crete, NE, Toni Taken Alive of Cherry Creek, Edith Waloke of Cherry Creek, Geraldine and Harold Condon of Ft. Thompson, special auntie Iverne Waloke of Howes, Loren Bagola of Eagle Butte, Lewellyn Bagola of Eagle Butte, Myron Bagola of Bullhead, the Little Shield Family, the Waloke Family, and the Condon family; her cousins:  Amanda Greaves, Leo Greaves, and Umpo Greaves, all of Eagle Butte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Bowker Jr.; her two infant children; her grandparents: Lewellyn Bagola, Virgil Bowker, Susie Bowker, Irene Bagola, Frank Waloke, and Morris and Clementine Big Eagle; her aunties and uncles: Benny Bowker, Lyle Bowker, Byron Bagola, and Blanche Bowker; and her cousins: Paula Marrowbone, David Crow Ghost Jr., and Jake Hollow Horn.
