Trini Hale

Trini Hale, 51, of Eagle Butte, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at IHS Hospital, Eagle Butte.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., MDT, Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Cherry Creek Congregation Church, Cherry Creek. Burial followed at Cherry Creek Congregational Cemetery. An all-night wake began at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the church, with a procession east of Cherry Creek at 2:00 p.m.

Trini Hale was born August 21, 1965 in Eagle Butte, SD to Dale Nathan and Virgimia Esther (Afraid of Lightning) Hale. He received his education in Cherry Creek.

Trini was united in marriage to Shurrawn Swan and together they had two children, Raquel and Danae.

Trini was a man dedicated to his community. He worked with the community TWEP program and volunteered for the NYC Summer Youth Program. He enjoyed spending time riding horses, hunting, and watching TV while enjoying a Coke. His culture was of utmost importance. Trini was very fluent in his Lakota language and always participated as a singer at the area pow wow’s.

Those left to cherish his life are his mother, Virgimia Hale of Eagle Butte; children: Raquel and Danae Hale, both of Eagle Butte; grandson, Triton Hale; favorite niece, Farrah Marrowbone and her children: Tyrus, Takari, Tyler and Thaizen Heideman; and aunts and uncles: Cletus and Clayton Creek, James Circle Bear, Vivian Johnson, Patricia Collier, Tisa and Della Creek and Shirley Dupris.

 He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents: Martha White Magpie and Eunice Creek; paternal grandparents: Moses and Amelia Circle Bear; step grandfather, Ceril Creek; and his aunts and uncles: Vera Dupris, Regina Lone Eagle, Ray Circle Bear, Roy Circle Bear and Mary Herrald.

Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Trini’s arrangements.
