Later they returned to South Dakota as Alford began his career in law enforcement. During this time, she worked in various jobs including Asst. She was baptized and attended Sunday and Bible School at the Methodist Church. She also taught Sunday school and did volunteer work throughout her life. God and family have always been her number one priorities.
Throughout the many moves all the friends she and Alford made remained a special part of their lives.

Adella and I shared a few good laughs this year over our mutual “condition”. She was always so unruffled and seemed wise beyond her years. I will miss her and wish only good memories for those who loved her.
Dear Martschinske Family,
We are so sorry about the loss of your mother. You have been such a wonderful family in all the care and love you have given Adella. There will be a plant from the Geary family delivered that is from the Dalton’s, Remington’s, and all the Geary Families.
Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
We love you,
Larry & Glenna Remington and Family
Suzanne and family, Thinking of you. I’m sure your Mom and Dad are up in heaven talking about the wonderful children they raised. You all took great care of them. Gods Blessings.
Martin, Rhonda and Susanne,
We are so sorry for your loss. Adella was a very special person. While we can’t be there with you, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Rhonda and family,
We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to your family. I did not know Adella very well, but I do know that Mallory loved her like her own Grandmother. Having lost my mother a few years ago, I know how your hearts are hurting. Please know you are in our prayers.
Ron and Karen Everett
Suzanne and family,
I was sorry to read of your mother’s death. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
We are so saddened to learn of Adella’s passing and yet rejoice knowing she is free of suffering and with our Father in heaven! She was one of the sweetest, kindest people we ever knew. Her children were also so incredibly wonderful to her as she needed them. God bless you all richly – I know you will miss your angel so very much! With Sincere Sympathy, Ann and Don
We were saddened to hear of Adella’s death. Our hearts go out to all of you. We had planned to be at the funeral in the morning but we canceled our plans because of the weather. Our thoughts are with you.
I want you to know of my sympathy for your feelings of loss of your mother. I have many fond memories of time spent at your home and of your mother. God Bless all of you, Patty Woodman Schwan
Just want to extend my sympathy to you kids and your families. It’s been so many years now, but the fond memories are still with me. Your Mom was about the most gracious lady I have ever known and she possessed a quiet assurance that was so comforting. God bless you and keep you in His gentle care.
