Al Lone Eagle

Al Lone Eagle, 61, of Bridger, SD, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at I.H.S. Hospital, Eagle Butte.
Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. MST, Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bridger. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Al, son of Harlan and Zouie Lone Eagle-Kills Alive was born at Old Agency, South Dakota. Al was a working man since graduating Philip High School in 1978. He was a businessman and most notably the main supporter of his children Carrie, Ginger, Patrick, Aliza, and Alsasha. As well, he was a most loving father figure to niece Christina and nephew Bronko.
After Al’s high school career was complete and in between jobs, he attended college at Northern State University while pursuing his degree in Business Administration. Al earned his Online Associates Degree.
He worked as a CRST Head Start Teacher where Al supported the youth in his community by teaching, to working as a CRST Elderly Care Provider. Al also held several varieties of construction jobs as well as learning to hone his trade in cement work and landscaping. He was also a successful self-taught mechanic and was proud to teach his children that trade. As a ranch hand, Al held knowledge forwards and backwards on how to maintain, sell, and break horses. Al was a cowboy and an adventurer. His most enjoyable pastimes would include hunting, fishing, exploring new sights, being with family, or shooting for sport.
As the adventurer and explorer Al was, he always found things to do. He has traveled across the United States for job opportunities while still being a big advocate for his community. His travels landed him in areas all over South and North Dakota, Colorado, Virginia, Las Vegas Nevada, Arizona, Texas, the Carolinas, and California. In these communities he held places on boards such as the Tri Community Development and the CRST Gaming Commission.
Al is survived by his mother, Zouie Lone Eagle-Kills Alive; sister, Sibyl Lone Eagle-Kills Alive; daughter, Ginger Peet; niece, Christina Hunts Horse-May; nephew, Bronco Hunts Horse-Kills Alive; grandchildren, Audrey Hunts Horse, Maspegni Hunts Horse, Joseph May Jr., TaSagye Luta Win Hunts Horse, Nape and Napesni Hunts Horse; cousins: Elmira Blue Legs, Bonnie, Bennet, Brice, Benita, and Celinda Belt; and special friends, Winona Pomani and Lisa Makewa.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harlan Lone Eagle-Kills Alive; daughter, Carrie Lone Eagle-Kills Alive; nephews, Wyatt Belt and Sylvester Dean Bear Eagle; aunt, Celeste Bear Eagle-Belt; maternal grandparents, Harry and Fannie (Hunts Horse) Bear Eagle; and paternal grandparents, Philip and Francis (Knife) Lone Eagle-Kills Alive.
Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Al’s arrangements.
