Albert Jones, 102, of Miller, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at Reck Funeral Home, Miller with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will be at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Albert David Jones was born April 25, 1909 at home on the family farm north of Vayland, SD to David and Lillian Jones. As a young boy he worked on the family farm also for farmers in the Vayland area.
On June 19, 1932, he married Violet Gilland in Gann Valley, SD. They bought a farm south of Miller where he lived until his retirement. Albert had a great joy for life, especially farming.
Albert is survived by several nieces.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Kentner; his wife, Violet; and two brothers, Harrold and Ronald.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Albert’s arrangements.

I worked at the Miller GSS for about a year. Albert will be dearly missed he was always a fun guy to be around. He always had a way of making going to work fun and interesting.
