Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted….Matthew 5:4
Dear JoAnn and family,
You are certainly in our thoughts and prayers. Memories are just popping up with everything I do! We have laughed, cried, and shared stories. We loved Allen soooo much- He loved life and people so much it is hard to even describe what all he means to us and always will.
He was such a wonderful Godly example- one that our whole family is grateful to have known and loved.
I’m sad to hear of your loss JoAnn and Kellogg family. But I also rejoice with you in knowing that Allen is in the presence of our Heavenly Father, the God he loved and served so much!
JoAnn, I remember when I worked in the dorms at SBA ’09-’10 and I spent one weekend with you guys. It was such an encouraging and refreshing time for me to spend that time with you. Your hospitality made me feel right at home. Your food JoAnn, was delicious and Allen of course was always joking around with me (my mother Naomi told he had not changed since she was little). He was a dear, sweet man! Someday I’d like to visit South Dakota again, but St. Lawrence Community Church won’t be the same without Allen. I wish I were there in person to give you a big hug JoAnn. Know that you and your family are in my thougths and prayers epecially during this difficult time.
Love In Christ,
Rebeca Kanagy

My prayers are with you JoAnn, Cindy, Kevin and your families. Allen was a wonderful man. So kind and caring. The times I spent in your home were always filled with fun and laughter. (And good food) I am sure heaven is a little happier now with his arrival.
My thoughts are with you JoAnn, Cindy, and Kevin as you mourn the loss of Allen, and celebrate this life as a strong, spiritual leader in the St. Lawrence community. I remember Allen as a jovial man who always took the time to come up and greet me, and ask how my life was going. Always a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He touched many lives.
Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Sending hugs and prayers.
Love
The Belands, Joe, Deb, Isaac, and Trevor
We will always remember when you would invite all the Grimm boys out for breakfast when we were in SD. I can still hear Allen laughing and then Merlin and Trubert would laugh just as much. We had such good times together with you all. We will really miss Allen. He was a special person. I am sure he is enjoying Heaven. God be with you all. We love you all.
What an amazing man who touched SO many lives – ours included. There is great peace and joy knowing that we will be spending eternity with Allen – to hear his laugh again and to share stories. Thank you Jesus.

Joanne, Cindy, Kevin and families,
Dan and I won?t be able to attend Allen?s services, but our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Allen was my cousin with the booming laugh who wasn?t shy about sharing his wonderful prayers and interesting thoughts and opinions with the public. I always enjoyed Allen, and I admired his strong faith and the tremendous love he had for his family. I?m so grateful to have had the chance to see and visit with you, Joanne, and Allen last July in Burke.
My deepest sympathy to the family. I have fond memories of Allen and his immediate family coming to Blunt when I was growing up and spreading the good word. Hayrides at the Harrison farm along with other events they would come to. Thanks for the great memories created by his giving.
Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
1 Thessalonians 4:13
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
May God’s Spirit, grace and comfort dwell on you all during this time of grief. The HOPE of heaven and VICTOR over death is far greater than anything this world can throw at us.
God’s greatest blessings to you.
To our dear friends. I pray that the service will be a time of good memories and rejoicing for Allen’s home going. We pray that the Lord’s comfort and encouragement will surround you and overflow in your hearts. God’s care and blessing upon you all. We wish we could be there.
Allen’s love for the Lord, his genuine care for people and the cheer he spread when around him will never be forgotten. Praying that the Lord will continue to comfort and heal the ache in your hearts as you grieve his abscense.
We certainly enjoyed visiting Allen and JoAnn, when we were on Home Assignments from Japan and doing deputation at their church! We will certainly miss Allen next time. But we are glad that he is safely at home with his Heavenly Father. May God bring comfort to your heart and provide all your needs, JoAnn!
