Andrew Liebig
November 22, 1974 ~ February 14, 2009
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February, 18, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gettysburg with Father Jerry Kopel officiating. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2009 with a 7:00 p.m. wake service at the church.
He was born November 22, 1974 in Gettysburg, SD to Roger and Marcia Liebig (Griese). Since the age of 6, he has resided at the Crippled Children’s Hospital and School in Sioux Falls, SD, the Black Hills Special Services in Lead, SD, and most recently at Oahe, Inc. in Pierre, SD. He loved to laugh, watch “The Price is Right,” and be with his dog Lucky. He will always be remembered for his smile and the profound effect he had on those he came in contact with.
Andrew was a blessing and loved by a large number of family and friends. Although we will miss him greatly, we find solace in knowing that he is with our Father in Heaven and looking over us in this time of grief.
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Marcia Liebig (Griese); two brothers, Thaddeus (Tamara) Liebig, Yankton, SD and Aaron (Ashley) Liebig, South Elgin, IL; one sister, Christel (Nathan) Davis, Lincoln, NE; and one maternal grandfather, Lyle Griese of Gettysburg, SD. He is also survived by five nieces: Kyra, Olivia, Grace and Sarah Liebig of Yankton, SD and Ainsleigh Liebig of South Elgin, IL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Emma Liebig; one maternal grandmother, Josephine Griese; one uncle, Gerald Griese; and one aunt, Joan Griese.
Memorials are asked to be directed to Oahe Inc., 125 Pleasant Drive W., Pierre, SD 57501.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Andrew’s arrangements.

I am Becky’s daughter and spent a lot of time at the house where Andrew lived. I wanted to take the time to tell you how sorry I am to hear about the loss of Andrew. I always enjoyed visiting the house and Andrew would always hold my hand and just laugh and smile while I was there. He will be missed.

I had the privilege of knowing your Angel Andrew when I worked for Oahe,Inc.
I will always remember him for his wonderful, joyful smile. I also remember when he saw me to get my attention he would laugh loud until I turned and acknowledged him and then he would laugh even louder because he accomplished what he was trying to do.
Andrew and I also shared a birthday.
I’m thankful for knowing Andrew and my prayers are with your family.
My sincere sympathy goes out to your family. I had the privilege of knowing your Angel Andrew when I worked for Oahe,Inc. He always lit up a room with his wonderful joyful smile. I remember him so often trying to get my attention by his laughter and once he did he would laugh even louder because he had accomplished what he wanted.
He was wondeful, I thankful that he was a part of my life.
