Beryl was born February 13th, 1928 to Orville and Iona (Dreblow) VonWald in The Westphal Maternity Home, Gettysburg, South Dakota.

Beryl lived her entire life in Gettysburg except for a short period of time as a child living in Agar. She graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1946. She married Robert L. Clark of Gettysburg on January 2, 1949 and from this union she was blessed with 11 children, 32 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Beryl was proud to say she lived her life in Gettysburg. Over the years, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing golf, playing cards and dancing. She looked forward to the fall when hunters arrived, always willing to open her home and serve visitors a meal at her table.

An active member of the Episcopal Church, Beryl also served as past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, member of the VFW Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and the Gettysburg Country Club.

Some of Beryl’s job experience other than raising a large family included: cooking at the Senior Center, working at the Soil Conservation Service office, waitressing at Bob’s Steakhouse, and welcoming guests to Gettysburg Inn and Suites. She was known for her generosity, her cooking, her beautiful smile and her sense of style. She took great pride in her children. Her home was full of life and attracted many who wanted to be a part of her big family.

Beryl is survived by her children: Bobby (Nancy) Clark of Gettysburg, SD, Cindy Clark of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Bill (Sue) Clark of Arvada, CO, Rich (Linda) Clark of Gettysburg, Terry (Terry) Clark of Norman, OK, Barbara (and the late Steve) Gates of Ralston, OK, Cathy (Jamie) Arnold, Paradise Valley, AZ, Mary Beth (Darin) Moore of Ponca City, OK, Joey Loth of Omaha, NE, Jim (Val) Clark of Hoven, SD, Pattie (Michael) Lindquist of Menlo Park, CA; 30 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
