Beulah Barrett, 92, of Faulkton was called home by her savior, Our Lord, July 25, 2014 at the Faulkton Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were held at 5:00 p.m., Monday July 28, 2014 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Bill Hoffman officiating. Burial followed in the Faulkton Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Beulah was born December 19, 1921 in Seneca, S.D. to Salvia “Sal” and Thelma (Hanson) Roseland. She was raised on a farm 10 miles south of Seneca. Beulah graduated from Northern State Teacher's College and taught school at the country school just north of her parent's farm.
On September 19, 1945, Beulah married Willard Barrett of Gettysburg. They resided on a farm just east of her parents until 1949 when they moved to Pierre. They raised their children in Pierre, then moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, in 1966. In 1971, Beulah returned to the Faulkton area with JoDee. She worked as a cook at the 212 Cafe, then took a job as a cook at Shirk Home. She went back to college and became dietary supervisor until her retirement 13 years later.
Beulah was known for her positive attitude, strong faith in God, her love and support for her family. In 2005, she moved from her apartment in Faulkton, to the Meadows Assisted living. In 2013, moving to the Faulkton Healthcare Center.
She is survived by her children: Dixie (Ed) Flom of Midland; Linda (George) Boddy of Warsaw, Missouri; Jeanne Toay (Richard Huffman) of Sioux Falls; Bill Barrett of Watertown; and JoDee (Jeff) Bryant of Faulkton; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; her sisters: Patty (Lester) Hansen of Faulkton and Bev Lahren of Pierre and sister-in-law, June Roseland of Seneca.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Heidi Boddy; great granddaughter, Hope Haubert; and her brother, Stanley Roseland.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Beulah’s arrangements.




No matter our age we r never ready to lose our mother, my prayers r with u all. May your memories help you threw this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Beulah Barrett. I worked for her at the nursing home many years ago. She was a good person to work for.
