Bill Hinckley, 63, of Gettysburg, passed away suddenly Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gettysburg, with Fr. Jerry Kopel officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, November 20, 2014 with a 7:30 pm prayer service, all at Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg.

William Thomas Hinckley was born May 21, 1951 in Hoven to Philip and Shirley (Tobin) Hinckley. He attended Maucher School and graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1969. He also attended the School of Mines and the National College of Business in Rapid City.

Bill spent his entire life farming in Potter County on the family farm. He also spent many hours trucking around the country. Everyone knew he was your go to man for any of your computer questions and was very proud of his self taught computer skills.

Bill will be greatly missed by his brother, Donald (Dawn) of Gettysburg; sisters: Peggy (Scott) Nash of Rapid City, Mary (Bruce) Marengo of Wilmington, DE, and Kathy (Allan) Haak of Huron; numerous nieces and nephews; his special friend, Joan Powell and her family.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Bill’s arrangements.

    I was very saddened to hear of the loss of Bill this week. Bill was a classmate of mine and a 69 graduate of Gettysburg high school. Bill was always a happy person who loved life and lived every day to the fullest. May Bill rest in peace in heaven with family and friends and several other 69 graduates of GHS.
