Bob Tennant

Bob Tennant, 74, of Gettysburg, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2012 at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Adel officiating. Burial followed in the Gettysburg Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.
Robert Tennant was born July 5, 1938 in Muscatine, IA to Irene Tennant. He moved with his mother to Gettysburg where he attended country school and graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1956.
Following high school Bob enlisted in the United States Army serving during peace time. Except for his two years of military service, Bob lived his entire life in Gettysburg.
On August 28, 1965 he was united in marriage to Nancy Horsley in Draper, SD.
He worked for Cass Clay for 25+ years, Blue Valley and Northern Plains. In 2004 Bob retired, but continued with lawn care until this past summer.
Some of Bob’s hobbies included: camping, fishing, bowling, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
Bob’s life will be cherished by his wife, Nancy of Gettysburg; his children: Tim (Shawn) Tennant of Gettysburg, Darren (Tawnia) Tennant of Beresford, Chris (Lori) Tennant of Reno, NV, Robyn Tennant of Aberdeen, Susan (Corrie) Weisser of Rapid City and Cory (Sara) Tennant of Aberdeen; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Roselta Tennant.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Bob’s arrangements.

Want to extend condolences to Nancy, Tim, and family since losing Bob is a great loss. He fought for months as his health declined sadly. God bless his memory and we pray for all in Bob’s family.
