Charlene (Hayen) Arbach passed away in the quiet and peaceful presence of her family on December 12, 2025, in Florence, Arizona.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Hoven with Fr. Brian Simon presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the services

Charlene (Hayen) Arbach was born on December 22, 1947, to Charles and Olga Hayen in Parkston, South Dakota. She was the oldest of five children.

After graduating from Mitchell Senior High School in 1966, she attended Northern State University majoring in physical education and graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree.

Char met her husband Charles, and they were later married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen, SD and remained together until her death.

Char was a caring and inspirational person, her love of teaching led to her career at O’Gorman Senior High School in Sioux Falls, SD where she taught Physical Education, coached girl’s athletics and taught Sociology.

After moving to Wyoming, she began a second career as an Administrative Assistant to the President of the Wyodak Power Plant she later transferred to the corporate office in Portland, Oregon as Department Coordinator for the Vice President Corporate Secretary’s office where she provided administrative support for the Board of Directors. Char also provided administrative support for the company charitable foundation.

Charlene, with her kind smile and warm heart had many interests including Youth Ministry, Eucharistic Minister, and Hospital Ministry. At the time of her death, she was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic church in Florence AZ. She and her husband loved traveling and spent their summers exploring the West coast from Mexico to Vancouver Island of British Columbia Canada.

She was an active member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) with certifications for Professional Human Resources (PHR) and Certified Analytics Professional (CAP).

Char is survived by her husband Charles of 56 years; her children: Lee (Darcy) Queen Creek, AZ, Kirk, Portland, OR, Jay (Aimee) Volga, SD, and Dana, Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren: Tori, Dexter, Harrison, Bryce, Remy, Gavin, Teegan, Natalie, and Kendyll; and two great-grandchildren Lachlan and Symphoni.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Olga Hayen; a son Martin Hobbs, Eureka IL; sister-in-law, Myrna Hayen; brother-in-law, Terry Peters; and niece, Peyton Raterman.

Donations in Charlene’s honor can be made to Hope Women’s Center, 2020 9th St., Coolidge, AZ 85128.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Charlene’s arrangements.
