Charles A. Senn, 79, of Seneca, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Pierre.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Seneca with Fr. Joji Itukuleapata officiating followed by military rites. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg. A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the church in Seneca.
Charles A. Senn was born November 11, 1929 on a farm at Polo, South Dakota to Julius and Mary (Baugus) Senn. He attended country school in Ellisville Township through the eighth grade. Charles worked on the family farm until joining the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Seneca to work with his father on the farm.
On March 5, 1962 Charles married Deon Zens at Zell, South Dakota. They made their home south of Seneca where he resided until the time of his death. He continued to work side by side with his father operating the farm and cattle until taking it over.
Charles spent many of his hours enjoying fishing, hunting, playing cards, tinkering around and spending time with his grandkids. He also loved driving around checking on the crops, countryside and visiting with neighbors.
Charles’s life will be cherished by his wife, Deon of Seneca; children: Carol (Rolland) Potter of Seneca, Joan (Richard) Hahn of Pierre; Charla Harford of Redfield, James (Liz) of Marquette, NE, Joey (Jodi) Senn, Cara Jean Senn, and Jerard (Heather) Senn all of Seneca and Cheri (Shane) Moke of Belle Fourche; 20 grandchildren: Danielle, Heath, Andrea and Cassidy Potter, Jacque, Brandi, Nichole, Ryan and Michael Hahn, Lindsay, Colton and Mariah Harford, Melisa Goss, Shauna, Kayla, Ashly, Jaymi and Shaye Senn and Shelby and Bailey Moke; three siblings: John (Katherine) Senn of Wyckoff, NJ, Lucille Senn of Los Angeles, CA and George (Marcia) Senn of Piedmont; one cousin: Curtis Baugus of Hawarden, IA and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Senn.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Chuck's arrangements.

Our deepest sympathy go out to all the Senn Family. we remember playing Buc in Lebanon from time to time. He always had something to visit about. Knowing hes in a better place of comfort will be a blessing. Again our deepest sympathy.
