Charles Herrald Jr., 69, of Cherry Creek passed away, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Porter Hospital, Denver, CO.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., MST, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte with Mother Margaret Watson presiding. Burial followed at St. Andrew Episcopal Cemetery, Cherry Creek. An all night wake service was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 at the church with a procession from the 4-mile at 5:00 p.m.
Charles Ernest Herrald was born April 13, 1946 to Charles Herrald, Sr., and Margaret Fisherman. He attended school thru the 8th grade at Old Agency and later earned his GED. His education continued on to culinary school.
To keep busy, Charles worked for area ranchers and did many kinds of seasonal work, roofing being one. He lived in Rapid City, SD as a caregiver for his mother until her passing in 1997, and then moved to Cherry Creek. He also lived a short time in Roy, MT ranching. Charles moved back to Rapid City from July through August 2015 until he decided to make Denver, CO his home.
Charles enjoyed many sports including basketball, baseball; he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing bead work.
Charles is survived by one son: Charles Herrald III of Great Falls, MT, siblings: Juanita Farlow of Rapid City and Ruth Ann Herrald of Custer, one grandson: Ryder Michael Herrald of Great Falls, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Richard Herrald, Victor Herrald and Delphine Sumner.
Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Charles’ arrangements.
