Charlotte LeBeau, 54, of Eagle Butte, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at I.H.S. Hospital in Eagle Butte.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church, Eagle Butte with Fr. Dan Juelfs presiding. Burial followed in the Eagle Butte Cemetery. A wake service began at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2012 at the All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte with visitation one hour prior.

Charlotte Marie (West) LeBeau blessed her parents, Francis and Kay (Keckler) West with her presence on August 27, 1958 at Old Cheyenne Agency. She attended Ridgeview Day School, Cheyenne Eagle Butte and obtained her GED at Kicking Horse JCC in Ronan, MT.

Charlotte married Anthony White Mountain on July 21, 1982 and to this union Hoksila White Mountain Jr. was born on August 29, 1982. Charlotte married Greg LeBeau on August 27, 1987 and to this union Michael Thomas LeBeau was born on June 5, 1994 and Kay Marie was born on May 11, 1997. Charlotte loved and cared for her step-children, Rocklyn and Brandy LeBeau, Kyle LeBeau and Greg LeBeau Jr & Robin LeBeau. She was also raising their grandson, Quentin White Mountain (4 years old) and their adopted son Chance Thompson.

Charlotte was a compassionate, caring and assertive person. Her loyalty to family and friends was second to none. She fed the less advantaged and opened her door to those in need. She was always independent, strong willed and protective of her younger siblings.

Charlotte was employed by Citibank in Sioux Falls, SD; CRST Tribal Courts and CRST Telephone Authority from Feb, 1991 through December 31, 2002.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Greg LeBeau, Eagle Butte; her sons: Hoksila White Mountain, Devils Lake, ND and Michael LeBeau, Ft. Benning, GA; daughter: Kay Marie LeBeau, Eagle Butte; step sons: Rocklyn LeBeau, Stillwater, OK, Brandy (Jen) LeBeau, Pierre, Kyle LeBeau and Greg LeBeau Jr., Belcourt, ND & Robin LeBeau, Eagle Butte, SD; grandsons: Quentin White Mountain, Eagle Butte, SD and Adopted Son: Chance Thompson, Eagle Butte; brother: Francis (Inkie) West, Yankton; sisters: Vicky (Jamie) Ducheneaux, Phoenix, AZ and Juanita (Pat) Schumacher, Aberdeen; aunts and uncles: Bob & Arliss Keckler, Janet Keckler, Audrey & Red Traversie all of Ridgeview, Jim & Rita Keckler, Sioux Falls, Michael & Brenda Claymore, Jack & Rita Claymore, Charles Claymore all of Eagle Butte and Mark Claymore of Denver, CO; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her father Francis West; mother Kay (Keckler) Traversie; uncles: Dan and Bill Keckler; aunt, Donna (Hiett) Keckler; grandparents: Gale Keckler, Katherine “Katy” Hiett and Jack & Stella Claymore; father-in-law, Archie LeBeau; mother-in-law: Norma Mills; and daughter-in-law, Crystal (Zorin) White Mountain.

Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Charlotte’s arrangements.
