Clorene Resel, 92, of St. Lawrence, died Thursday, October 30 at the Good Samaritan Center in Miller. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 Tuesday, November, 4th at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Visitation will be Monday, November 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service all at Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence. Burial will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Lawrence.

Clorene Resel was born January 22, 1922 to Clyde and Nancy Lorena (Jeffris) Loomis at St. Lawrence, SD. She attended school in St. Lawrence until 1937, and graduated from McGrath, MN in 1939 after moving with there with her family. After graduation she returned to St. Lawrence to work with various families in the community.

Clorene married Lawrence Resel on November 30, 1942 in St. Lawrence, where they began their married life farming. Her lifelong devotion was working alongside her husband and raising their 3 sons.

After the passing of Lawrence in 1975, Clorene continued farming with their oldest son Duane. Clorene enjoyed every aspect of farm life, whether it be driving the tractor, working the farm ground, packing the silage pile, taking a shift of calving, or cooking a meal for the men. She continued these duties until the later portion of her life.

Clorene took great pride and pleasure in the activities that her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were involved in.

Grateful for sharing her life are her 3 children, Duane (Sally) Resel of Miller, Lyle (Becky) Resel of Wessington, Dale (Leanna) Resel of St. Lawrence; 8 grandchildren, Stephan (Lori) Resel, Stephanie (Boney) Bonebright, Sarah Resel, Jason (Marissa) Resel, Chad (Tracy) Resel, Ryan Resel, Trisha (Scott) Teason, Mick (Crystal) Resel; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; 4 sisters and 1 brother, Mary Thomson, Marjorie Kuhlman, Joyce Zielinski, Joanne DeSmet, and James Loomis.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband and 2 sisters, Ruth Rezabek, and Norma Jean Nelson

    Clorene was a favorite aunt of mine growing up and she left me with good memories.

  5. Sorry to hear of your Moms passing She was a great lady . I remember all the holidays and fun times we had at the farm and the time we spent at St Lawernce at Grandma Margrets. Due to harvest in full swing down here we are unable to get away Connie and Mike
