Clyde was born July 4, 1961 in Miller, SD to Clyde and Betty (Weise) Fanning. He graduated from Miller High School. After high school, Clyde traveled the bull sale circuit, trimming cattle and preparing them for sales. He then moved to Red Lodge, Montana working for a mining operation laying leachpads. Later he moved on to Beaverton, Oregon as a certified welder, building customized tanks and cranes. He became a member of the Boilermakers Union. While living on the west coast he became a licensed cabin boy so he could enjoy one of his passions of deep sea fishing.
In 2004, Clyde moved back home to be closer to family and friends. While home he again helped out with cattle and ranch work. But Clyde’s real passion was the outdoors, hunting and fishing, as well as going to auctions and collecting antiques and much more. Clyde was a talented taxidermist and painter.
Clyde is survived by his daughter, Rita (David) Woolery of Riverton, WY; grandsons, Karson and Porter Woolery of Riverton, WY; father, Clyde Fanning of St. Lawrence; brothers, Joe (Vicky) Fanning and Chris (Leah) Fanning all of Miller; sisters, Jeanine (Mike) Hammill of Miller, Charlene (Rich) Davis of Garretson, and Shirley (Kenny) Vlasman of Watertown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Fanning; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents; and a nephew, Ethan Fanning.
