Craig Lewis Wharton, 66, died Sunday May 4, 2008 at his home in Miller, SD.
Visitation was Thursday, May 8th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service all at the Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9th at the First United Methodist Church in Miller with Rev. David Andrews officiating. Burial was at the G.A.R cemetery in Miller. Rembold Funeral Home of St. Lawrence was entrusted with Craig?s arrangements.
Craig Lewis Wharton was born April 22, 1942 in Rapid City, SD. At the age of 4 months Samuel L. and Corrine B. (Padmore) Wharton chose him to be their adopted son. Craig grew up in Highmore, SD graduating with the class of 1960.
Craig married Ruby Heinrich on November 22, 1962 at Isabel, SD.
Craig had many talents and interests. He was a skilled electrician, welder, and mechanic. Craig loved music, car races, and helping people whenever needed. He loved and was proud of his children and grandsons.
He is survived by his children Valerie (Tim) Zipp of Denver, CO, Son Chad (LaDonna) of Lisbon, ND, and Grandsons Kristopher, Jaren, and Jett. A brother Daniel (Virginia) Wharton of Golden, CO a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
