Daimon was a very compassionate, humble, and respectful young man. He was very active, he excelled at football and basketball. In his free time Damion enjoyed spending time with his friends: playing video games, going to open gym or cruising the streets of McLaughlin. He also enjoyed watching movies and helping cook with his adopted mom. When Daimon was home, he loved to play with his dog, Duke, and he would always visit his special friend, Laney Howard.
Daimon was on the President’s list honor roll all year and attended Purdue University GERI 2017 pulsar II summer residential camp for two years.
Daimon was raised by his dad, Brian, and his cherished grandmother, LaVonne Wilkinson. She took him and his two brothers to Rapid City. Daimon worked a little while at McDonald’s in Rapid City. When the boys returned to McLaughlin, Daimon stayed with his adopted mother, Samantha McCauley, until his passing. Daimon had a smile for everyone he loved. He was Grandmother Peggy’s special young man. He was her special star basketball and football player. All of his grandparents tried to attend all of his games. He Uncle Kyle took care of him also. Kyle was his summer coach and entered him in a lot of tournaments in the summer. They won many of their games. Grandma Peggy would say to people, “He is my young Wasica grandson.”
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

We’re so sorry to hear about your loss. At Ecclesiastes 9:11,12 , it states,"I have seen something further under the sun,…because time and unexpected events overtake them all. For man does not know his time….when it suddenly overtakes them." At John 11:25, Jesus said …"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." May these scriptures give you hope and comfort as they did our family. May God be your strength in the days to come. JR
