Darrell Beitelspacher

Darrell Beitelspacher, 67, of Ogden, UT and formerly of Lebanon, SD, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Crestwood Hospital in Ogden, UT.
Viewing was held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Luce Funeral Home Gettysburg. Graveside services followed at 11:30 a.m. at the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon with Pastor Jeff Adel presiding.
Darrell Eugene Beitelspacher was born September 21, 1948 at Holy Infant Hospital in Hoven, SD to Eugene C. and Shirley (Maroney) Beitelspacher of Lowry SD. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Darrell attended eight years at Lowry School, his freshmen year at Concordia High School in St. Paul, MN, and the last three years at Selby High School, graduating in 1966. Throughout his years in school, he played football and was a catcher on the baseball team.
Darrel served in the United States Air Force for four years and was overseas for three of those, retiring in 1972. Following his time in the service, he spent four years building homes on a Pacific Island with his best friend and cousin, Jim Anderson. He married Roseanne and they had one daughter, Alyssia. He married Kim in 1998 and they had one son, Dustin Jakob “DJ”.
Darrell was a realtor and travel agent by trade for many years in Ogden, Utah.
Darrell’s life will be cherished by his fiancé, Lillian Christensen of Ogden, UT; his children: Alyssia of Arvada, CO, and Dustin “DJ” Beitelspacher of Salt Lake City, UT; mother, Shirley Beitelspacher; brothers: Charles (Lesli) Beitelspacher of California and Australia, and Dale K. Beitelspacher of Vancouver, WA; sisters: Patsy Kenagy of Selby, Peggy (John) Minnicle of Pierre, and Phyliss Beitelspacher of Gillette, WY; six nephews, six nieces, five great nephews, 13 great nieces; and many more family members and friends, including the class of ’66 - who will greatly miss Darrell and his love for the Minnesota Vikings!
Darrell is preceded in death by his father, Eugene C. Beitelspacher; sisters: Pamela K. Beitelspacher and Paulette M. Beitelspacher-Johnson; nephew, Jesse Dale; paternal grandparents, Ferdenand and Karoline (Haux) Beitelspacher; maternal grandparents, Farrell and Viola M. (Walker) Maroney; and cousins, Jim Anderson and Daniel Titze.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Darrell’s local arrangements.
