Darrell R. Danielson, 59, of Big Bend, SD and formerly of Huron, SD, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 in Fargo, North Dakota.

Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Big Bend Community Hall with Pastor Steven Rockwell officiating.  Burial followed in St. Catherine’s Cemetery at Big Bend, SD.  A wake service was held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Big Bend Community Hall in Big Bend, SD with Tolly Estes leading services.

Darrell Russell Danielson was born December 20, 1953 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Darrell, Sr. and Donna (Hofer) Danielson.  He graduated from Huron High School in 1972 and later graduating from Mitchell Technical Institute.  On December 27, 1976 he married the love of his life, Phyllis Big Eagle in Woonsocket, South Dakota.  Throughout his life, he worked as a salesman, road construction and as a meat cutter.  He loved dancing, fishing, singing, playing cards, video lottery, watching westerns and the Dallas Cowboys.

His memory will be cherished by his children: Heather (Don) Touche, Wayne (Melva) Big Eagle and James Big Eagle; grandsons: Travis, Brandon, Calvin, and Warren; granddaughters: Marlene, Dawnie and Emily; his sisters: Mary (Gary) Martinmaas and Dot (Phil) Koschney; his other brother, Darrell Lambie; longtime family friend, Vern Curts; sister-in-law, Marie Morgan; nieces and nephews: Kelly, Jason, Travis, Starla, Dustin, Amanda, Chantell, and Andrew.

He was preceded in the death by his parents, Darrell, Sr. and Donna Danielson; wife, Phyllis Danielson; nephews: Justin Martinmaas, Richard Gonzales, and Kevin Chapman and niece, Alicia Gonzales.

Luze Funeral Home of Highmore has been entrusted with Darrell’s arrangements.
