Delia Hale, 80, of Cherry Creek, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Prairie Hills Care and Rehab Center, Rapid City.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. MDT, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Cherry Creek Gym, Cherry Creek. Burial followed at the LDS Cemetery, Cherry Creek. A wake service was held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at Zintkala Hall, Cherry Creek with a procession from the 2-mile hill east of town at 4:00 p.m.

Delia was born October 4, 1937 in Fort Yates, ND to Felix Condon and Mary Little Wounded. She received her education from Cheyenne River Boarding School and later got her G.E.D. Delia continued her education at Cheyenne River Community College and Northern State University in Aberdeen, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Throughout her life, she worked with the CRST CHR/MCH program and also as a teacher’s aide for the Cherry Creek Day School. On July 3, 1980 Delia married Larry Hale, Jr. at the LDS Church in Cherry Creek. Shortly after, they sealed their marriage at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple in Denver, CO.

Delia was been a member of the LDS Church her entire life. During her free time, she enjoyed hobbies such as: beadwork, leather work, designing and making star quilts, playing Yahtzee or cards, reading, watching old movies, and attending bingo/casinos.

Delia is survived by her children: Floyd Clown Sr. of Dupree, Delbert Stands Sr. of Cherry Creek, Lena (Robert) Buck of Pinetop, AZ, Crescentia Fast Horse and Cheryl Fast Horse of Salt Lake City, UT, Carlita (Dion) Brown and Aloysius (Tisha) Fast Horse Jr. of Eagle Butte, and Lacquetta Fast Horse of Rapid City; 33 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; siblings: Gloria Belmonte of Cherry Creek and Duane Standing Bear of Dupree; and one aunt, Ellen In The Woods of Pierre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hale Jr.; her parents: Felix Condon and Mary Little Wounded White Face; brothers: Harold, Lloyd, Issac, Edward, Tilden, Cyril, Floyd, George, Cedric and Lennis Condon; sisters: Vera Herrera, Madonna Condon, and Rebecca Mejia; daughter: LuCasta Fast Horse-Garcia; maternal grandparents: James and Adelia Little Wounded; paternal grandparents: Alfred Bear Flying Over Water and Josephine Little Eagle Condon; and numerous other relatives and tajokas.

Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Delia’s arrangements.
