Delphine Grace White Magpie was born January 4, 1964 at Cherry Creek to Wendell, Sr. and Bernita (Eagle Feather) White Magpie. She attended school at Cherry Creek and Eagle Butte. While growing up Delphine sometimes spent summer vacations in Red Scaffold at Darrell and Alvina Hump’s Ranch.
Delphine had a sense of humor and always had something to say to make people laugh. She was a very good housekeeper and cook. She was always willing to help anywhere and especially the elderly when she was asked.
Delphine really missed her father, Wendell, Sr. She was very happy to see him when he came back in December. She planned to have a revival to celebrate his home coming and also pledged to sundance in his honor.
Delphine married David Little Elk and to this union three children were born: Angela, Amanda and Michael. She had three more children: Dawson, Laresha and Louis.
Delphine accepted the Lord into her life and was very happy with her decision. As her family, we strongly believe she is now at peace with the Lord, although we wish she was still here with us. God calls us home when our walk ends and he took Delphine home with him. Delphine is survived by her father, Wendell White Magpie, Sr., of Cherry Creek; her children: Angela of Wamblee, Amanda of Kyle, Michael of Bismarck, ND, Dawson of Sioux Falls, Laresha of Eagle Butte and Louis of Pierre; eight grandchildren: her sisters: Eva and Gwendolyn White Magpie; her brothers: Wendell White Magpie, Jr. and Terrance White Magpie. She also leaves behind her special friend, Tony Holy Bear; her aunts: Marilyn Runs After, Arlene Demery, Valtina, June and Nora Little Shield; her uncles: Glen Looking Back, Clifford Demery, Franklin Bear Looks Running, Sylvester Waloke, Theodore, Morris, Clyde, Narlan, Andrew, Nathanial and Steven Little Shield; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Delphine is preceded in death by her mother, Bernita; her sister, Twila; her brothers, Julius and Dawson; nephews: Jacob Hollow Horn and Marvin “Tune” Bowker, Jr., and nieces, Danica and Twila Black Bear.
Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Delphine’s arrangements.

My condolences for Delphines passing. I considered her to be a Friend and I still do.
Our thoughts and prayers goes out to Delphine’s family. Delphine was a good friend of my baby sister Deanna (Clown) Kerstiens. I’d watch them as they visited and laughed together. Well, now they both can do that again together in heaven.
News of you leaving was shocking. I hardly knew you, i wish we couldve known each other better. Your my mother, and you always will be in my memories. The last time i saw you was in 2003, you said you loved me, n you were smiling. I love you too mom. Til the day we meet again, farewell my friend.
