Denise Louise (Potter) Ogren, 57, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at her home. Her husband, Brad, was by her side as she passed, and there is no doubt that she no longer has to endure any of the pain that took hold of her life for so many years. The Sioux Falls area hospice nurses assisted Brad with Denise's care in the home. NO MORE PAIN, DEE DEE!
Funeral Mass was held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Faulkton, with Father Christopher Hughes presiding. Burial followed in the Faulkton Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
Denise Louise Potter was born on December 22, 1960 at the Faulk County Memorial Hospital in Faulkton, SD to Harold “Bill” and Ramona (Anglin) Potter. She attended Faulkton School from kindergarten through 12th grade and graduated in 1979. She then attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD; where friends introduced her to her future husband, Brad Ogren. Denise went on to receive a degree in Medical Transcription from Bismarck Community College in Bismarck, ND. Denise and Brad were married on May 28, 1983 at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Faulkton. They lived in Faulkton for several years before moving to Sioux Falls, SD, where they have resided since 1987.
Denise and Brad owned and operated the Short Stop Bar in Faulkton. After selling the bar, and while living in Sioux Falls, Denise worked at Avera McKennan Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist for a number of years. She later worked for a Sioux Falls Optometrist, Citi-Bank, and Walgreens Pharmacy before retiring due to health problems. Denise was raised in the Catholic faith, and she attended Mass at St. Lambert's Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. Although she didn't have a lot of hobbies, she did enjoy collecting glassware, bells in particular. At one time she was an avid bowler, especially league bowling, until health issues no longer allowed her to participate.
Denise is survived by her husband, Brad of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Gaylene Strandbakke of Eureka, SD and Anita Suazo of Bozeman, MT; mother-in-law, Marguerte Ogren; sister-in-law, Meredith Meidinger; brother-in-law, Corble (Carol) Ogren; numerous nieces and nephews including: Cory (Jennifer) Wagner and family, Matthews, NC, Jason (Marci K) Suazo and Gus, Aspen, CO, Amanda (Ray) Kuhn and family, Billings, MT, Jami (Jared) Falk and family, Julie (Ross) Lindgren and family, Jenesa (Sheldon) Feist and family, all in ND and Jocelyn Blaire in Canada; friends: Brad and Carol Anderson, Mark and Lynn, and her Classmates of 1979.

Brad: So sorry to hear of Denise’s passing. We didn’t realize she had been ill. We enjoyed having her family for neighbors in Faulkton and she even babysat our children on occasion. We extend our sympathy to you and are relieved that she is now free of pain and in a beautiful place reunited with her parents.
