Donna Hargens, 77, of Miller, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital, Miller.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller, with Pastor Max Miller officiating. Burial followed at the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 followed by a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, all at Reck Funeral Home, Miller.
Donna Beth was born August 7, 1937 in Martin, South Dakota to Earl and Beulah (Kerrigan) McCue. She attended school in St. Lawrence. On January 26, 1962 she married Marvin Roger Hargens. They farmed north of St. Lawrence for over 50 years. She also worked at Sommers Bar for 25 years.
Her family was her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Hargens of Miller; children, Robert (Patsy) LeGrand of St. Lawrence, Susan (Brad) Mareska of Mobridge, Yvonne (Galen) Tapio of Rapid City, and Connie Martinmaas of Reno, NV; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Pam Weeder of Bertrand, NE; one sister-in-law, Katherine McCue of New Jersey; nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sprout.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Beulah McCue; brothers, Earl and Leo McCue; sister, Sharon Harvey; and grandson, Talis Tapio.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Donna’s arrangements.
