Donna Widmayer

Donna Widmayer, 90, of Miller, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller.
Memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, Miller with Rev. Brian Jones and Roger Day officiating. Burial was held at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.
Donna Mae Widmayer passed from this world into the loving arms of Jesus on December 21st, 2018 at the age of 90 years old. She spent her final days surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Donna Mae McClelland was born to Vera (Hiller) and Lawrence McClelland at Arnegard, North Dakota and was raised in Williston, North Dakota. She attended Yankton College, where she earned a Major in English and Minor in Music. She also met and married the love of her life, Ruben Widmayer. To this union, three daughters were born Deb (Mike) Jorgensen, Tera (Jeff) Konrad, and Judy (Jerry) Koeck. They were together for 61 years.
Music was a major part of Donna's life. She was known for her beautiful voice and also gave vocal lessons and directed many choirs throughout her life. Donna taught at three schools, St. Lawrence, Meckling and Ree Heights, during the 50’s where she directed choirs and taught English.
Donna will be forever remembered in the hearts of her children; grandchildren: Nicole (Arlen) Gortmaker, Kristen (Matthew) Krieger, Stephen (Jena) Koeck, Kelly (Samuel) Felix, Lacey (Tyrel) Ellsworth, Rebekah Koeck, Colton (Damaris) Fawcett, Angela (Brandon) Krein, Josiah Fawcett, Christina Koeck and her beloved great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben; her parents; sister, Laurel Poeckes, and infant brother, Donald Keith.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Donna's arrangements.

We were so sad to hear of Aunt Donna’s passing. Our Love and Prayers are with you all during this time. I have so many fond memories of Donna Reuben and family. Grandma Vera loved your visits and prepared for the family’s arrival for weeks. I can only imagine how excited Reuben, Mom and Grandma are to welcome Donna to the Lord’s Eternal Home. I remember stopping in Miller and staying with your family on one of the few road trips our family made to ND. It was a fun time with you cousins. Our parents were busy talking and visiting, and it was a fun time. I remember your mom as a beautiful and charming person.
