Donna Bent Schmidt, 87, of Faulkton, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Faulkton Senior Living, Faulkton, SD.

A memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Bill Hoffman presiding. Burial of her cremains followed at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Faulkton.

Donna Bent was born July 29, 1930 in Miranda, South Dakota to Arthur and Lena (Ickler) Bent. She received her education in Faulkton and went on to earn her teacher’s certificate at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen.

Donna taught country school in Faulk County until moving to Montana where she learned to do upholstery while working with Peggy Dahme. She returned to Faulkton where she ran her own upholstery shop.

Donna enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing, and watching girls’ basketball. She would attend any game that she could. She also loved animals, especially cats and dogs.

Her life will be remembered by her brothers: Dick (Joan) Bent and Roger (Maryann) Bent, all of Faulkton and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Bent; and two sisters: Delores Ford and Bonnie Meyer.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Donna’s arrangements.

A Memorial Service was held on April 28, 2018 at 1:30 PM at United Church of Faulkton, 1011 St. John St. in Faulkton, SD 57438
A Graveside Service was held on April 28, 2018 at 2:15 PM at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, south of Faulkton going towards Orient in Faulkton, South Dakota 57438
