Eric Hoefert, 33, of St. Bonifacius, MN and formerly of Seneca, passed away, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Chaska, MN.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m, Sunday, January 27, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Seneca with Pastor Daniel Tews officiating. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery, Seneca. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.

Eric Robert Hoefert was born February 7, 1979 at Gettysburg South Dakota to Rick and Louise (Kilber) Hoefert. He attended grades K through 3rd in Seneca, South Dakota and grades 4 through High School in Faulkton, South Dakota.  In High School Eric lettered in Football, Basketball, and Golf.  He then attended the University of Minnesota for three and a half years after which he started his career with Youngblood Lumber Company where he worked until the time of his death on January 23, 2013. Eric was proud to be an Organ Donor an avid Chicago Bears Fan and enjoyed working with his cars, the outdoors, Fishing, and collecting Guns.

Eric is survived by his Parents Rick and Louise Hoefert of Seneca; his sister and brother in law, Gwen and Brent Larson, Niece Brianna and Nephew Cody Larson of White, SD; brother, Nathan and friend Melisa of Brookings, SD; Grandmother, Alice Kilber of Selby; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eric was preceded in death by his Grandparents Robert and Gladys Hoefert and Erhard Kilber; aunt, Barbara Pins; and cousins: Jeffery and Jared Bitzer.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the charity of your choice.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Eric’s arrangements.

Although we haven’t been in close contact recently I have such fond memories of our kids’ high school years and watching them play on sports teams together.
