Florence Miesen
February 22, 1926 ~ August 3, 2017
Florence I. Miesen, 91, of Cannon Falls, MN and formerly of Lebanon, SD, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at her home, Twin River Senior Campus, Cannon Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, MN with visitation one-hour prior.
Graveside services was held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday August 9, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Hoven with Fr. Kevin Doyle, celebrant.
Florence is survived by two daughters: Mary Kaye Miesen of Honolulu, Hawaii and Marsha (Charles) Casey of Cannon Falls; grandchildren: C. Ryan Casey of Minneapolis and Erin Casey Yale of Laveen, AZ; great-grandsons: Aiden and Noah Yale, both of Laveen, AZ; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Nellie Schumacher; husbands, Merle Miesen and Ernest Cohrs; two infant daughters; two brothers, Paul and Bill Schumacher; and an infant sister.
The family wishes to thank Mayo Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during her time with them. A very special thank you to our “Angels” – all of the many wonderful, loving, and caring aides on the Twin rivers 4th floor residence who provided care and made mom’s life so happy during her time spent there.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Florence’s arrangements.
