Frances Lauritzen
December 2, 1931 ~ November 9, 2009
A Celebration of Life service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Luce Funeral Home in Faulkton with Pastor Justin Neugebauer officiating. Burial followed in the Faulkton Cemetery.
Frances was born Frances May Fluharty on December 2, 1931 to Earl and Clara (Risk) Fluharty in Bartholomew County, IN. She lived and worked there until 1953 when she met and married Vincent Pfeifer. They moved back to Vince’s home state of South Dakota and lived and worked in the Orient and Faulkton area. Frances was known for her skill with a needle. She was a seamstress for years, making everything from swimming suits to wedding dresses to even a snowmobile suit. She worked at the 212 Café as a cook for a number of years, at the Faulk County Courthouse in maintenance and also the Faulkton Hardware Store.
She married Murray Lauritzen on October 4, 1982 in Las Vegas County, Nevada. They continued to make Faulkton their home.
Happy to have had her in their lives are her children: Jim (Annette) Pfeifer of Clontarf, MN, Becky Pfeifer of Huron, SD and Patty (Brad) Holm of Aberdeen, SD; two grandsons: Jeremy (Leah) Pfeifer of New London, MN and Darin Pfeifer of Collingswood, NJ.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Frances' arrangements.




Boy, this has been a tough one. I feel so bad. I wish I could have gotton Becky up there more to see her mom. She will be missed. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with all of you, HUGS
