Glenn H. McLaird, 90, of Miller, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell, SD, under hospice care.
Burial will be at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lake Benton, Minnesota.
Glenn was born July 8, 1936, to Ruby (Rochel) and Ernest McLaird in Lake Benton, Minnesota. Glenn attended Lake Benton School through the 7th grade. The family moved to Summit, South Dakota where Glenn attended 8th and 9th grades. Two years later, the family moved to Sanborn, Minnesota and Glenn attended 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and graduated in 1954. In 1955, the family moved to Miller, South Dakota.
Glenn worked at Tri State Insulation and then worked in the grocery store business for many years. He was also employed at the Lil’ Feller. Glenn was a member of the S.D. National Guard for 9 years and a member of the Odd Fellows in Miller.
He is survived by his brother, Bob (Lee) McLaird of Bowling Green, Ohio; sister, Marilyn Grambihler of Plankinton; sister-in-law, Donna McLaird of Duluth, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lizzie and Harry Rochel, Harriet and William McLaird; parents, Ruby and Ernest McLaird; brothers, Daryl McLaird and James McLaird; brother-in-law, Robert Grambihler; and nephew, David Grambihler.
Reck Funeral Home of Miler has been entrusted with Glenn’s arrangements.

Thank you, Harlan and Kathy. I found out Glenn was good at telling some pretty good stories at the nursing home. I got a lot of nice comments on his stories. I’ve been into Rexall Drug several times and it has changed but still glad to see the soda counter there.

Thank you, Sharlene. I guess Glenn never told me you had worked at the Lil’Feller when he was there. Glenn sure did leave us with some memories we will never forget! You, Tootie and I had some pretty good times when we were in High School. Hope things are going well for you!
I enjoyed many short visits with Glenn when he worked at Lil Feller. When I delivered Meals on Wheels to him he was always so appreciative and grateful. May his soul be with Jesus.
