Glenn Paul Stebbins, son of Emery and Emma (Schuett) Stebbins, was born January 26, 1921 near Lebanon. He had three sisters and three brothers.
In 1930, Glenn’s family moved northwest of Seneca, and in 1932, they moved four miles south of Seneca. He attended grade school at Northwest and Southeast Fairview and Lower country schools, and later graduated from Seneca High School in 1939.
In 1942, his family moved two miles farther west. The family did custom threshing for the community. Glenn farmed with his parents and also helped the neighbors.
Glenn married Mildred Roseland on December 22, 1945 in Huron. They had one daughter, Glenda, born in May of 1947. In September of 1954 the family moved into the town of Seneca. Besides farming, Glenn served on the Seneca Township Board, sold insurance for twenty years, and prepared income tax for the residents of the Seneca area.
Glenn and Mildred were members of the Seneca Methodist Church and later members of the United Methodist Church in Faulkton. Glenn was involved in various things in the community including the Seneca School Board, where he supervised the building of the new school. He served on the ASC County Committee, the Faulk County Draft Board, and was a 50 year member of the IOOF Lodge in Seneca and Faulkton. He also received his 50 year farmer certificate and pin at the state fair.
Besides being a field man for the ASC, Glenn also enjoyed building and remodeling during the winter months. He was also an avid hunter, traveling yearly to Wyoming and Montana.
Glenn and Mildred moved to Faulkton in 1970. Glenn then became a city farmer, driving 30 miles during the summer to the farm.
They moved to Aberdeen in September of 2005 to the Gellhaus Carehaus. After Mildred’s passing in 2007 Glenn moved to the Meadows in Faulkton. In his later years he enjoyed cooking, mowing lawns, and spending time with great-grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Glenda Goldade of Seneca; granddaughters: Michelle (Todd) Brand of Faulkton and Kristi Goldade of Seneca; four great-grandchildren: Cole, Connor, Chloe, and Cord Brand of Faulkton; and one sister, Pauline Liechti of Seneca.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family at the loss of your loved one. May God almighty, father of tender mercies and all comfort continue to comfort you all (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). God has promised to completely remove death tears, mourning, outcry and pain (Revelation 21:4). We all eagerly anticipate the fulfillment of this promise. The Bible also provides assurance of a real hope of reuniting with our dead loved ones again in the future (John 5:28, 29). I pray that God will continue to strengthen you all.
