Greg L. Nolz, 25, of Miller, died unexpectedly Monday, February 2nd at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 6th at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 5th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence. Burial will be at the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miller.
Gregory Lee was born on March 18, 1983 to Anna (Pettit) Nolz and Lee Nolz at Hand County Memorial Hospital. He attended elementary and high school in Miller, where he graduated in 2002.
Greg was employed by Tri-State Insulation in Miller for the last several years. He had also worked at Performance Seeds of Miller. Prior to that he had lived and worked in Pierre.
Greg was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. Pheasant season was a favorite time of year for him. He liked creating meals out of wild game. He enjoyed working on vehicles. He enjoyed video games in his spare time, as well as motorsports, including racing and working on go-carts with his brother, Mark. His pride and joy was his pickup.
He loved his family and friends and would do anything to help them. He liked going to visit friends and spending time with them. He especially loved playing with his young nephews and trying to help family whenever he could.
Greg is survived by his parents, Lee and Anna Nolz of Miller, two sisters, Sarah, of Miller, and Teresa, of Aberdeen, and two brothers, Mark and Jeff, of Miller, two nephews, Ryder and Wyatt of Miller, his grandmothers, Charlotte Nolz and Colleen Koeck, both of Miller, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jimmy Wayne Pettit, Paul Nolz, and Don Koeck, as well as one aunt, Candy Nolz, and one cousin, Alex Pettit.
