Harold Lloyd Pevestorf, 84, of Wessington, died Thursday, May 27 at his home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Wessington with Rev. Michael Bagnall officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 31 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery near Wessington. Harold was born May 6, 1926 to William and Dora (Bassler) Pevestorf at Princeton, Minnesota. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and after returning home graduated from high school. He moved with his parents to a farm in the Rose Hill area and there met his wife Betty. After they married on June 23, 1957, they lived at a farm in the Highmore area for a couple of years and then moved to their present farm just north of Wessington. They operated a dairy farm for many years.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Watson-Krauter Legion Post 110 of Wessington. In his spare time he enjoyed going to auction sales.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty (Robertson); three children, Doreen (Dave) Biedermann of St. Paul, MN, Gail (Wayne) Christensen of Laramie, WY, Jean (Paul) Holtzen of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Matt and Jason Christensen, Andrea and Cameron Holzen; one brother Leonard (Joyce) Pevestorf of Huron, SD; sister-in-law Carol Pevestorf of Huron, SD; brothers and sisters-in-law Don (Shirley) Robertson, Nancy (Ron) Gedenberg, Jerry (Sharyl) Robertson, Denny (Sandy) Robertson, Barbara Robertson and George Oldham all of Oregon, Kay (Willie) McDonough of Wisconsin; and a number of nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Howard, Ronald, Earl and Floyd, nephew Duane Pevestorf, two sisters-in-law Annie Pevestorf and Ginger Oldham.
Memorials may be directed to the Cardiac Rehab Center at the Huron Hospital, Concordia Lutheran Church in Wessington or the Watson-Krauter Legion Post 110 in Wessington.
