Henry Theunissen

Henry A. Theunissen, 85, of rural Hoven, passed away, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gettysburg with Fr. Kevin Doyle presiding. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Hoven. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 with a 7:00 p.m. rosary service at the church.
Henry A. Theunissen was born July 11, 1926 to Henry P. and Theresa C. (Bruckner) Theunissen on the family farm. He attended N. Lowell Rural School and Hoven Elementary School and then worked on the family farm with his father and brother. He was inducted into the United States Army serving during the Korean War.
On August 24, 1955 Henry married Alice Sautner at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hoven. To this union nine children were born.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gettysburg.
Henry’s life will be cherished by his eight children: David (Debbie) Theunissen, Rapid City, SD, Dale (Chris) Theunissen, Gillette WY, Mark (Judy) Theunissen, Hoven, SD, Dennis (Jill) Theunissen, Mitchell, SD, Michael (Trish) Theunissen, Rapid City, SD, Loren (Sue) Theunissen, Brookings SD, & Steven Theunissen, Rapid City, SD; Daughter Lisa Theunissen of Manhattan, Kansas; 11 Grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Arleen Theunissen of Hoven and Jane Sautner of Colorado Springs, CO.
His parent’s; wife, Alice in 2003; one son, Randy in 1993; three brothers: William, Roger and Raymond; two sisters-in-law, Patty Theunissen and Doraine Theunissen; one brother-in-law, Raymond Sautner; and his grandparents preceded him in death.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Henry’s arrangements.

I remember many family dinners and fun on the farm. Uncle Heinie was a hard worker, loved his wife, Alice and his family. I will always cherish the memories of growing up and our families. All my love and prayers to my cousins and their families during this time of loss.
