Jack Richard Ray, 6 week old son of Cory and Kathy Ray of Wessington, went into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller.

Memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington with Rev. Janice Palmer officiating.

Jack Richard Ray was born June 19, 2015 in Huron, South Dakota to Kathy and Cory Ray. Jack spent his forty days in the loving embrace of his family and friends. His dark blue eye wonder at the world, his serious gaze toward his parents, and love of cuddling and clutching, bore into the heart of everyone he met. Jack entertained his brother, Alex with gurgles and coos as they shared the love of their parents and grandparents.

He will be remembered by his parents, Cory and Kathy Ray and brother, Alexander Ray, all of Wessington; grandparents: Chris and Lily Dugdale of Huron, Don Zimmerman (Linda Kiltz) of Silverdale, WA, and Pam Blekestad of Superior, WI; and uncle and aunts: Adam and Anna Ray of Elmer, MN, Jason and Sara Zimmerman of Twin Cities, MN, Dylan and Alicia Ray of MN.

Preceded in death by his uncle, Kenny Zimmerman; grandmother, Carol Cherry; great grandparents, Dick and Anna Sullivan, Romiane (Mona) Schwartz, and Sam and Kay Well.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Jack’s arrangements.
