James Aaron Reuer was born December 10, 1965 to Harvey and Judith (Jordan) Reuer in Gettysburg, SD. He attended Selby High School, graduating in 1985.
Following high school, Jim went to work in the Hoven area, working at the Hoven Cheese Factory. Jim also worked for Hoven Body & Repair, Hoven Coop, and was currently employed by Gary and Jason Nagel.
Jimmy met DeNora Lenz in 1995 and they were married January 29, 1999. They had one daughter, Dasia, on February 26, 2002.
Jimmy’s passions were his daughter Dasia, driving truck, making square bales, being with family and friends, going to the river camping, fishing, jet skiing, snowmobiling, and working in his shop.
Jim’s loving spirit made him easy to be around. He never got mad nor said anything bad about anyone. His loving, laughing spirit gave him a heart of gold, one willing to help anyone at any time.
Jim’s life will be cherished by his daughter, Dasia of Hoven; brothers: Randy of Bowdle, Johnny (Carol) of Hayti, Greg of Watertown, and Mark (Kerrie) of Sioux Falls; nine nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Janet; and brother David.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Jim’s arrangements.

Reuer Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. Jimmy's smile, laugh, and personality will be forever missed. He always had the right words to say to put a smile on someones face. Dasia, during many of our visits he would always say how proud of you he was. He wanted to make everything right for you. Hold on to the memories.
Jimmy and I would always joke about who would win the lottery first. He always wanted me to know that he would be the one to win, not me! I will forever miss having the best visits and jokes with you.
Rest In Peace, Jimmer.
Reuer Family…sending hugs and blessing to you all. Jimmy was a kind and caring soul…his love for his friends and family shined brightly. He loved to tell stories about fishing and camping and his crazy snowmobile stories, but most of all, I remember his stories about Dasia…and you could clearly see how proud he was of you! He was certainly "one in a million", with a heart of gold…and his friendship was more than anyone could ask for! We will miss him with all our hearts and soul. Cheers to you Jimmy!
