Jean Bisbee, 88, of Cresbard, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the United Methodist Church, Cresbard with Pastor Jeff Adel officiating. Burial will follow in DeVoe Cemetery, rural Cresbard. Visitation with family present will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Luce Funeral Home, Faulkton.

On March 20, 1928, Jean Elizabeth was born to Gar and Jenny (Richards) Griffith on the family farm in Faulk County. She attended rural country school and then graduated from Cresbard High School in 1946. She went on to South Dakota State University; graduating with a Bachelor in Science in Home Economics in 1957. She taught for a short time in Marion and Bristol, South Dakota.

Jean married Donald Bisbee on October 24, 1959 at the First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen. To this union, two children were born: Carolyn and Richard. After marriage, being a farmwife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother were her priorities. She took great pride in helping her family however she could.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her children: Carolyn (Randal) Dejmal and Richard (Kellie) Bisbee; grandchildren: Elliott (Kate) Dejmal, Rebekah Dejmal, and Tyler Bisbee; great grandson, Ryker Dejmal; sister, Adah Ruth Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Shirley Holt and Marilyn Bisbee; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Donald.

The family request memorials be directed to the United Methodist Church in Cresbard.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Jean’s arrangements.
