Alice Joan Davis was born December 4, 1940, at her grandparents? home near Burdette, SD to Harold and Alice (Walton) Harrington.
She married Russell Davis on October 1, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Miller. She lived her whole life in Miller, working as a housewife, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Avon sales, and a bailiff for the Hand County Clerk of Courts.
She started playing pool as a league member after the kids all graduated from school. She continued to be very active in the 8 Ball Pool League, until only just a few months ago. She and Russ started going to the South Dakota Senior games when she turned 55 and only recently, because of her health, was forced to give that up as well.
Her hobbies included reading books, camping, playing pool, any games at the Senior games that she could enter, and especially playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The great grandchildren are what gave her the will to live these last few years of illness.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Russ; daughter Rhonda (Lyle) Rowen of Miller; sons, Jerry (Gloria) Davis of Sioux Falls, Larry Davis of Belleville, Kansas; four grandkids, Brad Parmely, Eric Parmely both of Miller, Ashlee Beaner of Connifer, CO, Audumn (Brian) Beidler of Aberdeen; four step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Butts of Fedora, SD, Betty (Tuffy) Orr of Aberdeen, Dorothy (Keith) Willard of Belle Fourche, SD; brother Richard (Jeannie) Harrington of Redfield, SD; her husband?s families and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Steven Allen Davis.
