Joyce Archer 81 of Gillette, Wyoming died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 of natural causes at home with her family by her side.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at Grace Bible Church, Gettysburg with Pastor Scott Crook presiding. Burial followed in the Gettysburg Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg.

Joyce was born July 30, 1933 to Lloyd and Nellie (Wilkins) Tennant in Gettysburg, SD. Joyce received her education in rural schools and graduated from Gettysburg High School.

Joyce married Kenneth Archer on July 12, 1953 in Pierre, SD; 7 children were born to this union: Charles, Karen, Debbie, Rodney, Kevin, Steven, and Scott. Joyce kept busy by raising her children and working on their farm southeast of Gettysburg. After leaving the farm, Joyce spent time as a cook. The family moved to Wyoming in 1978. Joyce continued with employment as a cashier and cook until retirement. Joyce spent her years after retirement doing some traveling and spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her children; Karen Archer and Debbie Rhoades of Gillette, WY, Kevin (Corine) Archer, Steve (Traci) Archer both of Santa Rosa, CA, and Scott Archer of Gillette, WY; along with 6 grandchildren; Luke (Nicolette) Archer, Jennifer, Kendahl, Jaden, Bryan Archer and Jessica Collins, 2 great-grandsons; Kenny and Riley Collins, brothers; Everett Tennant of Seneca, SD, Elvin Tennant of Greenwood, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, sons; Charles and Rodney, her parents, and two sisters.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Joyce’s arrangements.

  4. I worked with Joyce and she was a hard worker but she kept it all together then I lived next door to her and she was still a hard worker nothing stopped her she made sure her family was okay and her hubby was okay she will be missed I loved working with you Joyce you was the best ever
