Justin Robert Clyle was born August 9, 1982 in Huron to Gale and Nora (Badger) Schlegel. JR grew up in Highmore where he attended elementary and high school. He was active in wrestling, football, and loved the sport of rodeo. JR graduated from Highmore High School in 2001. After graduation, he attended Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls.

JR was an avid team roper and was involved in the ranch rodeos for the past few years. JR had several roping partners, but his favorite partner was his dad. During the summers, if you didn’t see a rope in JR’s hand, he would be in the fields spraying farmers’ crops for Kroeplin Ag Service. He enjoyed his job spraying as well as the friends and co-workers he met along the way.

JR was the greatest uncle to his nieces and nephews. They all adored him and looked up to him, as he was their hero.

His memory will be cherished by his parents, Gale and Nora of Highmore; three sisters: Rachelle (Pete) Werdel, Nikki (Dillon) Baloun, and Kaci Schlegel; nieces and nephews: Shantay, Colby, Riley Werdel (godson) and Brooklyn Baloun; his grandparents, Robert and Bernice Schlegel; step-grandmother, Mary Archer; aunts and uncles: Gary Schlegel, Janie (Mike) Gregg, Mavis (Don) Ludeman, Mary Kay (Terry) Jandel, Sharon (Terry) Shantz, Debbie (Lyn) Peters, Sylvia (Roger) Clark, Patsy Archer, Sheldon (Judy) Badger, Kirbi (Dade) Swanson, Darby (Kenda) Nutter, Ed Nutter, Dail (Rick) Mollard, Renee O’Dea, and Michelle (Tyler) Hartley; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Clyle and Marie Badger.
