Born in: Herried, South Dakota
Resided in: Miller, South Dakota

Judith Mae Jenner, 84, formerly of Miller, was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, after a brief period of hospice care in Brighton, CO.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church, Miller, with Rev. Allison Galbreath officiating. Lunch will follow the service.  Private burial will be at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.

Judy was born on November 6, 1941, to Carl and Mae Fischer in Herried, SD, the fourth of five children. After graduating from Miller High School in 1960, she started her career at First National Bank (First State Bank – Miller / Quoin Bank), where she gave 36 years of joyful service as a clerk and loan officer. On March 18, 1962, she was married to Merle E. Jenner, and later that year, they celebrated the birth of their son and only child, Mark A. Jenner. Judy was a woman of great faith who was dedicated to her church, Miller United Methodist. She volunteered there regularly, sang in the choir, and shared the Gospel with everyone she met. Judy enjoyed spending time with her many close friends, grabbing a milkshake at Rexall, walking in Crystal Park, and visiting her family in the Carolinas.

Second, only to her love for the Lord was her love for her family, whom she spent her life guiding, loving, and celebrating.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Merle E. Jenner; youngest sister, Mary Nedved; son, Mark A. Jenner; granddaughter, Ashley Varnadore (Gregg) and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Heidi; grandson, Jophery Jenner (Ashley) and great-grandchildren, Jada-Brynn, Abel, and Xander; and grandson, Andrew Harcum (Rachel) and great-grandchildren, Rhett, Lorelai, Rowan, and Linnea.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mae Fischer; and siblings: Carl Jr. Fischer, Peggy Wangsness, and Robert ‘Bob’ Fischer.

Judy’s joyful spirit, friendly nature, and faithful heart have brightened the lives of all who knew her. She would want to leave this earth in the same way she lived, sharing the message of God’s gift of salvation: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.

All other condolences can be sent to 3310 Snowy Owl Ln., Brighton, CO 80601.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Judy’s arrangements.
