Keith “Vern” Schraeder, 37, of Highmore, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Faulkton with Pastor Tammy Craker officiating. Burial followed at the Faulkton Cemetery.  Visitation with family present was held from 5:30 to 7:30p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at Luce Funeral Home in Faulkton.

On August 5, 1974, Keith was born to Harvey and Rita (Engel) Schraeder in Faulkton, South Dakota.  He attended Faulkton High School, graduating in 1992.  Throughout school, he was involved in football and wrestling.

Keith enjoyed being outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, motorcycling or working on the farm.  He was an avid animal lover.  He also loved a wide variety of music but especially Hank Williams, Jr.  But above all things, being a father to Tayler was his greatest joy.

Grateful to have shared in his life is his daughter, Tayler Layne Schraeder of Miller; parents: Harvey (Elaine) Schraeder of Bowdle and Rita (Gary) Goodall of Hitchcock; siblings: Kasey (Jackie) Schraeder of Lawton, Ok, Kevin Schraeder of Virgil and Konni (John) Giesen of Faulkton and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and aunts and uncles.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Vern’s arrangements.

I always enjoyed visiting with him and we spent many hours sitting at the kitchen table discussing things when Keith worked for us here on the farm. I am so sad to hear of Keith’s passing.
