Kenneth Bud Heasley, 75, of Miller, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 5 at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Visitation will be at Rembold Funeral Home Sunday, July 4 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Interment will be at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miller.
Kenneth Bud G. Heasley was born on February 22, 1935 to Darrah and Bessie (Sneberg) Heasley at Miller, SD. He attended grade school and high-school at Ree Heights, SD.
On November 14, 1954 he married Donna McNeil at Wessington, SD. They lived in several towns in Minnesota and South Dakota before returning to South Dakota in 2001. Bud made his home in Miller from 2005 until his passing.
Bud loved following the Minnesota Twins, boating on the river, visiting with family and friends, and coffee breaks at the Ranch Caf. He loved to play jokes and make the best of tough situations. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. At Grandpa Buds house, the candy dish was always full.
He is survived by his children, Pat (Mark) Yusten of Ankeny, Iowa, Kenny Heasley of Wessington, SD, Gail (Kerwin) Haeder of Huron, SD, Dan (JoAnn) Heasley of Elk River, MN, Tammy (Dale) Lichty of Miller, SD, Dave (Keri) Heasley of Reinbeck, Iowa. He is also survived by grandchildren Shawn (Tammy) Sass, Amy Sass, Andrea Eilertson, Jason Heasley, Sarah (John) Steffensen, Tiffany and Dillon Walker, Chad (Michele) Haeder, Josh Haeder, Kameryn Haeder, Joe (Stacie) Heasley, Ryan (Jill) Heasley, Cory (Jennifer) Lichty, Brandi (Eric) Kranzler, Jennifer (Derek) Klawitter, Chris (Michelle) Heasley, Cody and Amanda Heasley, Heather Peterson; great-grandchildren Anna Sass, Austin Rauk, Bailee, Morgan and Caden Steffensen, Jordyn and Dawson Haeder, Kaylei and Joey Schneider, Tate and Finn Heasley, Nolan and Oliver Heasley, Hallie Lichty, Gracelynn, Kaelynn and Maxwell Kranzler; sister-in-law Bonnie Heasley of Miller; brothers-in-law Larry Butch (Penny) McNeil of Atkins, AK, and Jerry (Deb) Mehling of Wessington, SD; a special cousin Myra Doyle and special friend Ardela Wylie.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna; his parents; brother Don Doc Heasley; granddaughter Angela Lichty; sisters-in-law Deb Mehling and Shirley Diekhoff; and brother-in-law Cliff Diekhoff.
