Kenneth ""Kenny"" Barrows, 68, of Faulkton, passed away Sunday, October 12 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen, SD. Funeral service is Friday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church at 1011 Saint John, Faulkton, SD 57479. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayers all at the United Methodist Church in Faulkton. Burial will follow at the Faulkton Cemetery. Rembold Funeral Home of St. Lawrence has been entrusted with Kenneths arrangements.

Kenny was born in Faulkton on February 12, 1940 to Rev. Douglas and Katherine (Sisson) Barrows. He graduated Faulkton High School in 1958. Then in 1963 Kenny graduated on the Deans list from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science/Range Management degree. While in college he belonged to Gamma Sigma Delta fraternity. In 1987 he furthered his education and received an Automotive-Diesel Masters Course diploma.

On November 28, 1963 Kenny married Donna Rae Joyce and they made their home on a farm near Faulkton.

For a short period, Kenny worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Montana. In 1963, Kenny returned to Faulkton where he began farming and ranching for Leonard Lenhoff farms. In 1980, he began farming and ranching on his own until his MS forced him to retire.

Kenny enjoyed many things. He was naturally musically talented. Many nights when his family was young he would play the steel guitar and sing Johnny Cash songs. He had an exceptional love for the outdoors. Hunting and gardening were two of his favorites. He also enjoyed guns and reloading. His family and friends also saw his unconditional love for all animals.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Rae; son, Tim Barrows of Vermillion, SD; two daughters, Joyce Barrows of Waconia, MN and Julie (Greg) Fischbach of Warner, SD; three grandchildren, Cheyenne Davis of Waconia, MN, Ashley and Keeley Fischbach of Warner, SD; two brothers, William (Mary) Barrows of Clarksville, TN, Gordon (Margie) Barrows of Rochester, MN; one sister, Clara Klettke of Kulm, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Troy Barrows and one brother-in-law Lloyd Klettke.

Pallbearers will be Roger Melius, Harold Giest, Bernie Vogel, Earl Knowles, Brad Joyce and Josh Joyce.
